Journal · Frequently asked questions

Can resin be applied over an existing floor?

Often yes, but not automatically. Overlaying can avoid demolition only when the existing floor is suitable or can be prepared correctly.

01

Seven essential checks

Bond, stability, loose tiles or areas, cracks, moisture, joints and levels all need attention. Door clearances, thresholds, stairs and transitions to adjacent rooms also matter.

02

When overlaying is unwise

If the substrate is unstable, has unresolved problems or creates incompatible levels, covering it may only hide the defect temporarily.

03

Initial orientation

Three clear photographs, location, approximate area and a description of the substrate support a first review. Final specification may still require a survey and tests.

This information supports orientation and does not replace assessment of the substrate and actual project conditions.
